Renting a Home
The first step in renting from Lighthouse is to schedule an appointment to view one of our vacancies! Just call us at 585-544-5649 or email us at scottsep@yahoo.com.
When renting an apartment, you are responsible for paying RG&E for gas & electric used in the unit. The landlord pays the water bill and mows the lawn in the summer.
When renting a single family home, you are responsible for paying RG&E for gas & electric used in the home. You are also responsible for lawnmowing in the summer and snow removal in the winter. The landlord pays the water bill.
Appliances are NOT included with any of our units. NO PETS are allowed in apartments. NO PIT BULLS OR ROTTWEILERS are allowed in single family homes.
If you like what you see and want to secure the property for yourself, you need to come to our office and put down a security deposit. The security deposit is equal to one month’s rent. For example, if a property is renting for $500/mo, the security deposit will be $500.
While you’re at the office, we’ll have you fill out a rental application. You are also welcome toclick the tab below and print a copy to fill out in advance. We’ll fill out any paperwork you might need (i.e., if you need Section 8 paperwork completed or a Landlord Statement for DSS) and discuss when you’d like to move in.
We’ll also run a quick background check on you. Any negative results will be discussed with you so you are aware of what is on public record and to give you a chance to respond. If we should choose not to rent to you based on this background check, we will immediately refund your security deposit.
On your move-in date, you’ll come to the office, sign your lease, pay the first month’s rent and get the keys!
